Not entirely. SOFA requires laboratory values (platelets, bilirubin, creatinine) and PaO₂/FiO₂ ratio, which are not available at the bedside. For rapid bedside screening, use qSOFA instead.
A baseline SOFA of 0 is assumed if no prior organ dysfunction is documented. If the patient has known chronic organ dysfunction, the acute increase may be underestimated.
